Tim entered state custody when he was 3 years old and came to Omni Visions at age 10 despite the fact that his case workers at the time felt that he would need the structure of a residential treatment facility in order to be successful. Now, at age 25, Tim has grown up to be an independent and active member of his community. He has a job, a truck, lives in his own house and has a pet dog that he adores. Even though he left state custody at age 18, his former foster parents, the Goodwin family, continue to support him and count him as a member of their family.
During his time with the Goodwins, they learned that Tim loved to draw and was very creative artistically. So, last Christmas, Mrs. Goodwin gave Tim painting lessons with a local artist. He has actively pursued his lessons over the last ten months and has completed many paintings. In fact, he has sold six of his works and has orders for two more!
Recently, Tim entered his best paintings in the While County Fair, winning 1st place and Best in Show in the Amateur Landscape category and 2nd place in the Ocean Scenes Category. He hopes to sell enough paintings to buy a new truck in the near future!
Omni Visions and the Goodwin family couldn’t be more proud of Tim and his accomplishments. Thankfully, the power of family and commitment can overcome some of the most difficult circumstances in life.
