April Teamer of West Tennessee was recently recognized by the Department of Intellectual Disabilities as an Outstanding Direct Care provider. In her nomination, it was noted that April takes a great deal of time to get to know the ladies she supports so that she can assist them to pursue their interests in the manner that is most comfortable for them. She exhibits great patience in getting to know individuals who display challenging behaviors. By getting to know them, she can customize her interactions to minimize challenging behaviors and support them to successfully navigate their community.
