Maximizing opportunities for independence is the goal of Home and Community Supports. This service enables individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to acquire and maintain skills that allow a greater level of independence in the community.
Home and Community Supports provides instruction, support, supervision and engaging participation that reflect the natural flow of skills and other activities as they occur during the course of a day. This service is provided on a one-to-one basis by a trained habilitation technician in the person’s private residence and or in the community. This service is only offered in the State of North Carolina.
