Many families prefer to care for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities in their own home. To this foundation, Home Supports adds a network of services to meet the living and personal care needs of adults 18 years and older who reside in North Carolina.

Home Supports participants live in their own home, supported by a biological or stepparent, other related family member or guardian, also residing in the home. This service assists with acquisition, retention or improvement in skills related to activities of daily living, such as personal grooming and cleanliness, household chores and dietary needs, as well as social and adaptive skills necessary to enable the person to reside in a non-institutional setting.
