Why be a Family-Based Foster Parent with Omni Visions? The reasons are many, but they all come back to “family” – when you provide a home for an adult with mental retardation or developmental disabilities, you become part of the Omni Visions family.
At the heart of the Family-Based program is Omni Visions’ belief that individuals can best be served in a family setting. Family-Based providers are individuals contracted to provide housing, supervision, support and personal care to a person with a developmental disability or mental retardation.
Omni Visions is committed to making you successful. That begins with the first contact and continues as long as you are part of the Omni Family. Omni Visions’ primary focus is to support both the client and you.
An Operations Manager supports every Family-Based provider. The Operations Manager partners with the family to develop support services and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, when assistance, support, direction, and advocacy are needed. All of these services are paid for by Omni Visions. Additionally, each Operations Manager has a very low caseload of 7-8 families, to ensure each family receives the attention and support needed.
The Mental Retardation Division of Omni Visions provides services primarily to adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities in supported living and foster care environments. Some older children under 18 years of age also receive services. Qualifications are as follows:
• May be married, single or divorced
• May or may not have other children

• Must be at least 18 to adopt or 21 to become a foster parent
• Must reside in the state where the foster child comes from
• Must be able to meet the financial and emotional needs of
your own family
• Can work full-time
• Must be a resident of the U.S.
