retarded/developmentally disabled adults are provided through Omni Visions’ Family-Based Services and Community-Based Supported Living Programs.
At the heart of the Family-Based program is Omni Visions’ belief that individuals can best be served in a family setting. Omni believes this applies to adults with Mental Retardation, as well as children. Family-Based providers are individuals contracted to provide housing, supervision, support and personal care to a person with a developmental disability or mental retardation. Omni Visions designed the Family-Based Program to provide an alternative for a person living in an institutional setting.
Omni Visions also provides community housing for mental retardation clients in Tennessee and in northwest North Carolina. These community resources typically consist of two or three person homes with seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day care. Each home is assigned to an Omni case manager who coordinates services for those individuals and oversees the supervision of the direct care staff.
If you would like more information about these services in Tennessee, contact Omni Visions at 865-525-8484 and in North Carolina at 336-838-2412. If you are interested in providing Family-Based Services for adults, please see our Get Involved section.
